I’ve been a subscriber to Lee Channing’s newsletter for a while now and have enjoyed her insights. Long story short, I approached Lee and asked permission to print part of her newsletter for my readers. So, here is that extract. Let me know what you think. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on Lee’s work and I know Lee will welcome the feedback too!

December 2011

The month of December is always overflowing with family/holiday issues. Even if you don’t share any holidays with your family, memories surface that must be dealt with or at least understood. In order to create a month in which you can enjoy the light, loving energy flow, make every effort not to be drawn into memories or frustrations from the past.

You can and should spend extra time in meditation (or quiet times) to help support your personal strength and protection.

Remember that everyone, no matter how loving your family/friends are, needs to have healthy boundaries – boundaries that do not allow the emotions of others to penetrate too deeply. I’m an empath and everyone has some level of empathic energy, and I can assure you that you need to set your own personal boundaries even a bit stronger during the month of December. It’s just that way – no need to question it. Try to “feel” where your boundaries are and keep them in place.

The energy color for December is pink – how wonderful to have a light, compassionate energy flow surrounding us all as the year comes to an end.

When pink surrounds us, we all get a new lease on life – we get new opportunities to create a more compassionate response to life as well as a better view of what needs to be changed. What does pink help create on a bad day (you didn’t sleep well, have a headache, the boss is angry, etc.)?

Confusion – simple mental and emotional confusion can reign.

So when you feel the least bit confused, blame it on the energy of the month and then work to rebalance yourself. Calm, deep breaths help as does extra time out in the sunshine – try just taking a walk to clear your head and your heart.

Pink is associated with the crown chakra – the top of the head – and it affects the energy surrounding our body, our head, and our central nervous system.

For anyone with a disease that affects the nerves, be prepared to work through some issues and know that you may be stronger than ever. If you get headaches, be prepared for more or less. In this month’s Did You Know column, I’ll attach a visualization entitled Soothe A Stress Headache which can really help. Use this one or create your own – you are in charge of your body and particularly those stress headaches – don’t suffer, do something to make each day better.

The energy hint for December is to be aware or beware. Sorry for the word play, but it’s the truth.

If you allow yourself to wander through the month in an emotional stupor, overwhelmed by the holidays, etc., you’ll create a mess to clean up.

Use the light energy of this month to organize your energies and to be more aware of everything that affects you on a daily basis. This month is a wonderful time to literally “find” your center and your potential.

Relationships: You should be able to see each and every relationship in your life more clearly this month. Literally a word of advice about volatile relationships: Detach.

This month’s light energy is not suitable for long, drawn-out arguments – nothing will be resolved. Use your compassion and your ability to detach to help support those relationships you’d like to keep healthy.

Finances: Once again, light, clear energy will offer an opportunity to see your financial issues and understand, without too much effort, what needs to be done.

REMEMBER: USE THE POWER OF GENTLENESS AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY

Beginning the Conversation

Well Lee. How apt that you focus on relationships, especially for those who live in the parts of the world that celebrate Christmas in a big way.

I will be returning to my family home. I will be spending a lot of time with loads of people (as always happens around this time of year). And, I will be be engaged with those I love – and energetically detached. That seems like a plan as we have so many issues going on around health and old age, I know I could do with a bit of engagement without being drained.
