It’s Not Easy Being Accepted!

The Paranormal | 6 comments

Spooky Action at a DistanceHalf a decade ago when I decided to ‘ground my dream’ and gain qualifications based on paranormal studies I found it very difficult to identify academics in Australia who would even admit to being interested in what the scientist Einstein called spooky action at a distance.

I soon came to understood that studying psi is regarded as a career limiting move – especially among the academic fraternity. Fortunately for me, I didn’t have a career would be damaged by delving into the unknown.

In Australia, there are very few opportunities to study the paranormal and these openings are difficult to find. In fact, if I didn’t know better I’d suspect that hiding them within Universities and other tertiary institutions was all part of a conscious plan 🙂

I’ll reveal more about how I found my way into the academic system to study my passion next.

In the meantime, have you undertaken a course of study in parapsychology or similar? Would you recommend that course to others?

It is of interest to me to find that so many of `us' felt very `different' as children. I recall this feeling all too well. Also, many recognized their abilities around the age of 5yrs. It would be interesting to know just how many share the experience.

One of the motives for my survey was to uncover these early childhood experiences and to shine a light on them so that those who have a duty of care for children will at least become aware that paranormal experiences are a part of the private world of children. I will be revealing more about the results as I do my blog.

In the meantime you might be interested in completing the survey (see right) and this will provide you with a summary of the original survey findings.

    Thanks for popping by.

    Cheers

Thank you rosemary, for sharing your experience.

I understand that not everyone is open, and honest, in this dark, dank, unethical and sometimes, immoral world that we reincarnated into, for whatever reason.

But it seems that you have embraced, your calling, and are comfortable with your calling, which I feel comes from a deep place of knowing.

We live in exciting times Rosemary, and are blessed in so many ways, to walk the path of a mature and accountable, responsible, ethical and moral soul. T

he Psychic realms, are there twenty four hours a day, seven days a week for eternity, for anyone who needs help and assistance.

    It’s like roadside assistance Rosemary.

Yes the so called religions, governments, militaries, police forces, businesses etc.etc.etc, all know of the psychic realms and those that have clear access. But being dishonest by nature, they like to hide it away somewhere, for whatever reason.

I admire your honesty, courage and enlightenment Rosemary.

This planet needs many many more of your type.

Education is the key to a brighter future.

Blessings and joy to you and yours Rosemary.

Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement.

You are right; I am genuine. I was born knowing.

I’m also human and have come to understand that the physical world has to be lived physically – strange as it may seem to say. That has been my biggest challenge – to embrace the coarseness of the world’s energy, in all its manifestations.

And, when I receive words of kindness from people like you, out of the blue, Im reminded that there are degrees of coarseness and fineness in this physical world.

      Blessings to you too Lawrence.

      Cheers

    Hi Rosemary,
I emailed Rupert Sheldrake directly on that very issue, as I’m a mid-career scientist and would so dearly love to work in this field, and gain formal qualifications to consolidate the personal reading and studies I’ve been doing.

This is a science in it’s infancy; there is so much work to be done, and so many willing and eager to do it!

You’d likely know this already, but for the benefit of your readers, I was directed to the website openscience.org which has a comprehensive list of tertiary courses around the world that teach in the fields of psi phenomena.

In Adelaide, Lance Storm does psi research in the psych dept. of Adelaide Uni. He will supervise students in the psych degree course, not others. In Melbourne there is also the Phoenix Institute which has a course in transpersonal counselling, among others, which touches these subjects more from an internal perspective.

The UK or US seem to have the most options, perhaps some courses are available online. Perhaps we all jumped into incarnation too early, and should have waited until some more universities had caught up a bit!

Thanks for keeping this blog going!

      Thanks Anita for dropping by.

You are right about there being so much more to do but I get excited when people like the physicist Brian Cox do a program on the stars and Universe….its all connected. we just need to work together to join the dots!

I did my Masters Degree on the paranormal at Monash University and my Faculty was Education! So, anyone interested in studying further would probably do well to think tangentially! It is still the case that most ‘self respecting’ academics wont mention directly that they are interested in the paranormal; as a member of the Medical Faculty at Monash University told me, unsolicited too, the paranormal is a career limiting move.

Hence, it is still the case that most parapsychologists come to the topic late in their careers Anita. Maybe this is the case for you too?

Thanks for the compliment on the blog!
