Can a Dream Symbol Guide Us?
The following dream symbol statements are paranormal phenomena extracts from the first spontaneous paranormal survey conducted by Psychic Revolution. These accounts have not been edited but any information that may identify the original contributor has been removed.
598. DREAM SYMBOL, PREMONITIONS
Since I was little, I have had dreams which come true later on. Sometimes, it is years later. This happens to me at least once a year, sometimes more. Those dreams are very “different” than the “normal dayhash” dreams. When a dream causes me to wake-up and I’m feeling an intense emotion, then I know that I’ve been “told” something important. Thing is, these are usually symbolic in nature, but I’ve learned to listen to what they tell me…because ALL of them have come true so far.

56. DREAM SYMBOL, PREMONITIONS
It is not really one specific experience but rather continuing experiences that i am having. Since i was a teenager i have often had dreams that i have considered to have then come true.
Days, weeks and sometimes months later. As depressing as this might seem they are exclusively concerning disaster or accident. I sometimes have dreams that are seemingly fragmented and symbolic that seem to make no sense at first, only to become obvious later when i see something that reminds me of the dream. I have dreams every single night but most of them are simply pieces of information from my daily life that has been mixed up into the usual type of dream that means nothing other than i am processing my own thoughts and esperiences from the day. The dreams i have that appear to be precognitive are distinctly different.
I awake and remember them for days in some cases even years. They are vivid and always involve things that are out of my control in life. I can only describe them as a series of images, like movie footage where i am an observer in the image watching as things unfold. There are rarely specific i.e. i rarely get a name or a place name. I have dreampt of plane crashes, hurricanes, tsunami and terrorist attacks. It is never nice and it is never personal, it involves other people in other places which makes it seem like such a pointless thing to experience. I have tried to be logical about this and for a long while a strongly believed that it was coincidence. Now i am more willing to believe as the years pass the number of incidences increase meaning that the possibility that it is coincidence only decreases.

1092. DREAM SYMBOL, OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE, GUARDIAN ANGELS
I was about 16 years old and fell asleep while reading in my bedroom. I woke up facing my bedroom wall and realized I couldn’t move my body. The only part of me that I could use were my eyes. All of a sudden I felt breathing on my neck. The hairs stood up all over my body. I was terrified.
Something touched my arm and said try to move in a very scary (almost demonic) voice. I had no idea what was happening. All I could do was close my eyes and scream at myself to wake up. I was sure it was dream but couldn’t pull myself out of it. I was screaming inside my head to get up and move. When I could move I jumped up and woke from my dream. It was so real I remember thinking it was going to come back and get me. Then I felt a warmth unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I felt a light come over me that I can’t explain. I went from being close to calling 911 because the dream was intense to feeling like I had just experienced something unique and everything was going to be just fine. I’ve had people tell me I experience sleep paralysis and was just confused but I know it was something more than that. I thought I was going to die in my dream. I’ve never felt that much fear before. There are no words to describe it. The light seemed to come at just the right moment. I thought I was going crazy and something let me know I wasn’t alone. Since that day the same dream has come back several times. Each time its the same thing and then when I wake the light is there protecting me. I don’t believe in Christian views but I do know we have angels and guardians always looking out for us. This experience opened my mind and let allowed me to start exploring phenomena such as lucid dreaming, astral travel, OBE and several others. It changed my life because I know now that even in my dreams I am protected. It let me know that some things can’t be explained by others because they are unique to you. I definitely know there is something else out there. There are many more experiences to write about but this pretty much sums up my first “big” one.

1003. DREAM SYMBOL
I was having a reoccurring dream. I won’t go into the dream because it is too long but I was directed in the dream to go to Paraguay. To make a long story short. I went to Paraguay and the first day there a man walked up to me and asked me where I was from. I told him Colorado he said, “I have been waiting for your arrival!” The next nine days I saw and experienced parts of my dream. It was a life changing event. I met people who were very familiar to me and this man told me that he and I were brothers in another life and that it was important for me to return to my country. Lots of symbols and parts of this adventure that I’m still sorting out.
