The following paranormal phenomena statements are survival after death extracts from the first spontaneous paranormal survey conducted by Psychic Revolution. These accounts have not been edited but any information that may identify the original contributor has been removed.
291. SURVIVAL AFTER DEATH, DEATH AND DYING
A friend of mine … died in my arms when I was 15. I always felt he was with me. Two years later, my moms friend came to visit (she is a holistic healer) she stayed in my room.
She closed the door and in the middle of the night someone came into the room and asked where I was he had light around him he said over and over this is … where is “…”?
She said I was downstairs asleep on the couch. And he left. Her door was still open when I woke up. (not really happened to me I guess, but still)

When my dad was in a coma and his passing was iminent, I heard my grandmother come and call his name to come home. I “saw” her at the foot of his bed holding on to his feet and call to him. No one else in the room either saw or heard anything.

I had a seeming brief “visitation” by my father at a moment which appears to have corresponded with his death (confirmed with family member who was present at his unexpected demise), some 35 miles distant.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER DEATH
My father was dying. I was using essential oils to anoint him. (It was miraculous to me that he had given me permission.) As I annointed his forehead, he sat up, wide-eyed, and said “I see … right behind you, helping.” My Uncle …, Dad’s brother, was a priest who had died years earlier. I had felt a presence, but didn’t know who it was. A month later, my Uncle appeared to me in a “dream”. He said “Forgive me. I didn’t know. Let me know if I can ever be of any help to you.” I was in awe of that.

A dear friend committed suicide that night and appeared in the middle of the night at my (and my husbands) bed at, what I now expect, the moment of his death. I woke (kind of) up and so did my husband, and I saw him standing next to my bed without saying anything. Since he lived in the same big house as we did his appearance was not impossible (though he never came in out bedroom before), and in my half sleep I didn’t think much of it. He didn’t glow, he just stood there and went after a few seconds. It all had a dream like quality.
The following morning we heard what happened, and later I realised that it was absolutely impossible that he could have come while alive, without making noise, since the hallway was totally dark and full of wood and paint for remodeling; one had to jump to manage it, even by daylight. I never talked about it with my husband, but I am sure he experienced it too.

I was driving to the hospital late (12:15am or so) to visit a dying aunt (Favorite aunt). When I got within a block of the hospital I was overcome by a feeling that she didn’t need me anymore. She was in a better place and that me going there would simply hurt.
I turned around and returned home and went to bed. The next morning my uncle and cousins were sitting at the kitchen table and announced that my aunt had passed away at about 12:15am that morning. I suddenly had the feeling she was the one who told me not to go to the hospital.

In the early morning hours following my 10th birthday I awoke from a terrifying and emotional dream in which my grandmother came to me and told me she was dying and wanted me to know I loved her and wanted to say goodbye.
I awoke screaming and vomiting and when my parents came into my room I kept screaming “she’s dead!”. Certain that I was simply having a bad dream and perhaps a touch of the flu they calmed me and put me back to bed. Later that morning I awoke again and knew something was wrong. I went downstairs and found my mother on the phone crying…she told me that my grandmother had passed in her sleep early that morning…the estimated time of death was the same time as my dream.

First you have to understand we had a family member die (drown) when she was a teenager in the 70’s. My grandmother was sick and in the hospital in the mid 90’s. One night, when about my entire family was there, my grandmother called out to my cousin, “…, grandma is right here, i am ready to go with you now” and then she passed away.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER DEATH
I was 14 weeks pregnant and just felt that something was wrong. I went to my GP. I had no symptoms, bleeding, pain etc. Just a feeling. He humoured me and checked me over. Found the babies heart beat and said everything was fine. I went home comforted that all was well. At 15 weeks pregnant, I awoke from a deep dreamless sleep in a terrified panic. So much so, that my sleeping husband woke up and asked me what was wrong. “Oh nothing, I just thought I was dying.” I said. I lay back down and went to sleep. At 19 weeks I went for a routine check at the doctors. He could not find the heart beat and sent me for a scan. The baby had died at 15 weeks. I know I felt it die. It was as if I was dying, and I suppose a part of me was.

NOTE: THIS HAPPENED TO MY FATHER THE DAY PRIOR TO HIS PASSING OVER: the morning of the evening my father died he told of a strange dream/experience that he had the night before (saturday) (although he said it was not a dream it was real & actually happened to him).
my mums father (who has passed over some years prior) had sat on my dads bed discussing life after death & reincarnation, & not to be afraid to die. of course at that time dad was not aware his number was up. he had been telling all & sundry who visited their home that sunday morning, it was distressing enough that my sister in law left early in tears & could not understand why dad was being so morbid (thats how she saw it). anyway dad had a big heart attack that evening, & he was not a religious man yet was saying hail mary whilst gasping for his last breath. he was in the arms of my older brother who was trying to resuscitate him.
then dad smiled & said mother (he was always very close to our grandma & we believe she came to take him to the other side). I dont have any doubts about this & there were several witnesses of this final act.

STAGES OF DYING
I was ‘visited’ by my great grandmother upon her death. I knew exactly who she was, and she sat on the end of my bed and just looked at me smiling. I did not know until a very long time later that she had died, I was 4 but remember it clearly to this day.
