The Psychic Realm

33269341_7e5cec0139_mWho Plays in the Psychic Realm?

Have you ever visited a psychic? Or been tempted to find out what its like? Many people have taken the plunge. Some have done so for a laugh (a good thing to do with a girlfriend perhaps?); others have approached a clairvoyant anxiously seeking answers to unresolved issues. Does that sound like you? If it does, then you are not alone (in more ways than one.) Every year millions of units of currency – dollars, euros, yen – you name it, it is given to those who work in the paranormal realms, in return for oftentimes unspecified services.

Do the clients of psychics, on the whole, report satisfaction with the services rendered? Do YOU generally leave your session feeling invigorated and reassured? Or do walk out feeling bewildered, even angry? Anecdotal evidence suggests that this full range of emotions is engendered. So do clients genuinely receive value for their currency? Little is actually known about this in fact. Surprisingly, given the size of the industry, it’s an area that has been largely neglected by academic researchers and overlooked by statisticians.

There are numerous websites that market the services of psychics. But who regulates them? Have you ever read the small print? it makes for interesting and enlightening reading. The disclaimers talk in terms of ‘adult entertainment’ — tell that to those who are grieving for a loved one and seek consolation in the psychic realms. Entertainment is the last thing on their minds. They are looking for comfort and closure not amusement. Have a look at the privacy policy? Oftentimes there is talk of sharing personal details with allied service providers. It’s not the kind of thing that those seeking an experiential session in the ether generally consider. Perhaps they should?

Have I given you food for thought? Was your experience a good one? Did you know what you were looking for before you ventured into the unknown and did you find what you were looking for? These may be subjective judgments but they are necessary. If you were happy, did you refer others? Is that how the psychic industry flourishes — on intuition and recommendation? If you were unhappy, and perhaps you only went the once, was you feedback encouraged?

These are the kinds of things that future users of a psychic’s services have a right to know? But where do they go to get this kind of information? Again, a review of the websites indicates that even though feedback is encouraged, the owners often have the right to edit or remove comments. This is hardly a system which suggests impartiality.

Something needs to be, in my opinion. And before that happens people need to open up about their experiences — not so much about the content and what transpired in their session, but more about their actual experience and how it left them feeling?

    Rosemary,

Hehehe ๐Ÿ™‚ …”neener, neener”? is a raspberry, phtt or sticking one’s tongue out at an issue or person. A childish expression of “ut uh, no it’s not” or “oh no you aren’t/aint/isn’t”.

It’s funny that came up. In one of the forums I moderate, the subject of the English language came up as we have folks from the UK, Us and Australia as members. (I asked one of the Aussies for a translation but alas as of yet no answer….but I didn’t want you to think I was ignoring the question.)

Of course, most of us in the US see Paul Hogan “Crocodile Dundee” as the primary example of Australian English, which of course would be like those of you there using something like cowboy/country slang (area where I grew up) as exemplary of US English….yes, used by some, but NOT the standard.

In one of my college classes the teacher told us there are some 2,000 dialects of the English language, which it seems can be as confusing as a “mosquito locked in a blood bank”.

As for my wife and I, we celebrated our 32/12/9 anniversary yesterday (Aug. 15, 2012) which translates to 32 years knowing each other, 12 years living together, 9 years married…and we decided that as of today, our ONLY priority is to start making preparations for moving back to Maui, regardless of what entities or negative Spirits may have to say about it. After all, it is up to us to decide our future and fate, not some crabby ol’ lady coming out of the Ethers!

    Many Blessings,
    Dave

I am delighted you have firmly resolved to move Dave. I bet the universe will align now you have made up your minds. And, as for that crabby old lady – she will have to some one else’s problem.

So, there is more to Hawaii than beaches – I know that – but Ive never felt the pull to visit. Happy to be convinced ….

Australian translation of neener, neener? Na na… na na nah – starting on piano note G ๐Ÿ™‚

If your other forum is relevant to here, please share.

Congratulations on your anniversary (I thought my husband was anal!) and good luck with the plans.

      Ciao

      Rosemary

Well, thanks for the links and yes I’ve read most of them previously.

As for this incident the other night…neener neener to the “old lady’s voice”…we did do an EVP session last night and I got down right “in her face” about deciding what and where we should be….not a word. Silence except for the tic tic tic of the wall clock on nearly an hour worth of recording.

So if she’s being that coy, phtuuie on her…chicken!

We’re planning another EVP, EMF and IR session tonight after we watch the Perseid meteor shower. Hopefully we’ll catch something and if not, then I may have to check this one off as “failed-audio”…I can not rule out just my imagination at this point, other than Kay’s reaction at the same time looking out our front window. (Neighbor’s fight a lot)

    Blessings Be,
    “Fel”

Cultural alert: what does neener neener mean?

I dont know a lot about EVP Dave but if it was an EVP did she come through the tv the first time? If so is that her preferred medium? I have no idea if such considerations are necessary…

      Good luck.

      Cheers

      Rosemary

PS you are an even better researcher/student than I thought – finding your way through the data on this site ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, I’ve clicked the “Clairaudience” links on all pages and it brings me here. Is this really where we’re suppose to be? I had hoped to read more regarding the auditory experiences of others.

The other night, Tuesday August 7, 2012 my wife and I were watching our recorded paranormal shows from the previous week. “Hauntings” was showing a woman in great distress with a “evil old man” living in her attic….interesting but we prefer the live shows showing actual footage rather than recreations.

At one point, my wife and I were discussing the reality that if that were us, with our kids, we would’ve been long before, broke or not…when as clear as day…as if a scary old woman were sitting next to me I hear “BECAUSE I WON’T LET YOU MOVE!!” literally screamed in my ear to the point I jumped. I immediately ran the DVR back and nothing even remotely close to those words was said and even my wife said she thought she heard “something” though couldn’t begin to decipher it other than a ‘woman’s voice, screaming’….she looked out our front window at the same moment I heard this voice.

Most disturbing to me was the first and second person …”I” won’t let “YOU” move…because we are diligently trying to get our affairs in order to move back “home” on Maui. We have been so utterly miserable here in California since our return in 2005 after 8 glorious years on the highly paranormally active island.

Anyway, I take it that this sort of experience falls into this category of “clairaudio”, correct? I also just wanted to document it after a couple of days of pondering more mundane rationale for such a thing. I can come up with nothing else and have watched that episode over and over to no avail of that being said on that program.

    Any thoughts?

    Blessings of Peace,
    Dave K.
